The House Bill of Lading (HBL) is a Bill of Lading which is issued to a shipper by a freight forwarder, after receipt of a shipment. The HBL serves as confirmation of the agreement between a forwarder and a shipper. The HBL usually shows the actual shipper and actual consignee.
